Manager Internal Audit - IA250914 1. Accountable for the identification and reporting on all significant control weaknesses, through the application of a systematic, disciplined approach to evaluate and improve the effectiveness of risk management, processes, controls and decision making 
§ Individual contributor or management of a team ( for big projects) to undertakes specific audit activities, ensures compliance with the audit methodology, quality and homogeneity of the outputs including the audit reports and findings: 
  • Ensures the audit scope is focused on the relevant area(s) of the business
  • Review the draft report, provide feedback on the quality of the report, draft findings and additional areas to be analysed.
  • Agree/recommend grading of the audited process
§ Refers all unsatisfactory reports for review and calibration to Head of Audit 
  • Provide insights and recommendations on improvements to the key stakeholders in the business
§ Allow flexibility in plan and resources to facilitate ad-hoc projects. 
§ Provides or co-ordinates programme assurance 
§ Provide support to management teams to help define effective controls that satisfy VF policies and procedures. 
§ Gain positive management commitment to the outcomes and recommendations resulting from the audit process. 
2. Enable the Group to satisfy the Corporate Governance requirements of the various regulatory authorities on whose exchanges the Group's shares are listed 
§ Ensures timely delivery of group programmes to support in complying with corporate governance requirements: 
  • Key Control Questionnaire programme
  • SOX compliance support
  • ELCA testing and COSO Assessment
  • Assist external auditors in the performance of the interim and year end audits.
§ Local Audit Committee 
  • Preparation of the audit committee papers
  • Ensures compliance with Local Audit Committee Terms of Reference
  • Supports the preparation of the Main Audit and Risk committee papers
§ Participates in the risk assessment process 

3. Lead special projects on request of senior management 
  • Undertake special projects, ad-hoc audits, project reviews, fraud investigations or similar on request
  • Ensure that the internal audit activity maintains its independence and objectivity
  • Continuous engagement with stakeholders at all level ( local and group) to understand the ongoing risks within the business and support them to address it on a timely manners.
  • Engage with business to proactively provide advisory and guidance on risks and controls for new projects, programs and initiaitves.
4. Undertake our activity to ensure that high risk areas are subject to greater focus than low risk areas 
Ensures that the audit plan concentrates on key business processes and controls, including major projects as identified by the business 
  • Provide key inputs to head of audit on the draft audit plan for the VSS
  • Ensures that the audit scope is targeted and specific
  • Ensures that audit recommendations (issues) are limited to areas that will make a real difference to the business
§ Issue tracking: 
  • Holds the business accountable for the resolution of high and medium priority actions. Interacts with senior management to ensure commitment on a timely basis.
§ Monitors the progress of the audits assigned and overall plan to enforce effective ONE team concept. 

Customers, supplier and third parties 
§ Identify and make recommendations that look at the business from a customer perspective 
§ Acts as a customer champion even when it is unpopular 
§ Internal customers include local management (auditee) and group management and audit teams (within and outside of entity) 
  • Be trusted business partners
  • Be consistent in reporting and flexible in approach
  • Ensures prompt delivery of reports 3 weeks after fieldwork
  • Ensures that the findings and improvement opportunities are pragmatic and achievable
  • Be an advocate of the "one audit global team approach"
Leadership and teamwork – Assist the Head of Audit in any matters relevant to run the VSS IA Team 
§ Develop and improve audit methodology and tools like the Process Reference Model, related risks and controls matrices, KCQ process, audit toolkit, etc. 
§ Plan and implement internal audits and control evaluations that comply with local and/or international requirements. 
§ Support the Head of Audit in contributing to the efficient operation of the Vodafone Audit Community by maintain the audit management system (sharepoint) 
§ Proactively deliver insights, promote and share knowledge 
§ Assist the Head of Audit to develop a pool of talent and future potential resources 
  • Support quick and efficient integration of new employees by training on the job
  • Develop and conduct training for new employees locally and in co-operation with other parties of the audit community
  • Provide input to Head of Audit for the talent review
  • Maintains visibility of the mix of experience and skills within the local Opco IA team
  • Provides support for the development of the local Opco IA team
§ Performance Dialogue 
  • Manage/Involve in the annual review and mid year check of the IA team members
  • Manage/Involve in the identification of objectives and definition of the development plan of the IA team members
§ Manage/Involve in the recruitment of new IA team members 

Innovation and change – understand what the organisation wants to achieve, embrace and drive change 
1. Identify opportunities during our audits, stakeholder management and networking which can enhance process improvement and simplify processes 
2. Constantly challenge ourselves to review our methodology to enhance delivery to our stakeholders 
3. Identify ideas/input to improve Internal Audit process and methodology 
4. Influence management teams to adopt recommendations that improve operational controls. 

Knowledge and experience – Deliver insights and share best practice across the Group world-wide 
§ Identify best practice and ensure it is shared with the wider Audit Community and Business. 
§ Deliver insights (early warnings and lessons learned from audits and business reviews) into the business and across the global audit team 
§ Support the execution of PRM domain strategy to ensure related objectives are met 
§ Ensure that the projects are focused on cost effective key controls. 
§ Acts as a role model in translating Vodafone's Way, Business Principles and Strategy into business practice. 
§ Support to develop and promote to establish good business practice, like Expert Guidance 
§ Provide timely support and information to other local audit functions if requested 
§ Understand the major interdependencies between financial and other IT systems from an audit perspective 
§ Maintain awareness of professional and technical developments e.g. audit standards, in addition to external factors affecting IA, its systems and controls and advice the Head of Audit of developments impacting on the services. 
Communication – Communicate with key stakeholders 
1. Stakeholder management - communicate with key individuals across the business to highlight strategic and operational risks. Provide regular feedback to the Head of Audit on the issues that really matter. 
2. Provide the business with early warning of potential control problems and emerging issues. 
3. Ensure buy in from the Senior Leadership team (Head of Audit and Group Audit Director where appropriate) so that messages are delivered with impact and influence to drive change where required
